Bantams Shine in Pittsburgh

The Bantams took the ice, rushed to get dressed and played their best game of the tournament. Rob Sprankle started out the scoring at 8:51 left in the 1st period on an assist from Alex Aud and Michael Darges. A mere 45 second later, Trey Anderson buried the puck to give the team a 2-0 lead.

During the second period, the scoring continued with a goal with 3:05 left from Alex Grove and Ryan Steffens then at 1:48 left, Sam Rienhard found the twine from Sprankle. The team scored again, scoring more in this game than they had the rest of the trip. Alex Aud scored with 3:38 to go in the game with assists from Grove and Anderson. The game ended in regulation 5-5 and went to sudden death overtime where the time passed with no one scoring, though both teams had chances to finish in overtime.

With the game tied, it was time a 3 man shoot out. After three shooters, it was still tied and time for a Sudden Death shoot out. Bret Bischler scored first in Sudden Death. Then goalie Kenny McCarthy came up with a huge save to give the team an 8-7 final victory.
